Chuck Hughes is a former homicide detective and is currently a Partner with Katz & Phillips, P.A. His practice focuses on serious crimes and all aspects of criminal defense including felony charges relating to murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery and/or assault, and other cases involving sex and drug charges. Chuck also regularly handles DUI and other misdemeanor cases, Federal Firearms Licensing, Concealed Weapons and Firearms Licensing and appeals regarding the same. Chuck uses his knowledge and experience as a former homicide detective to the benefit of his clients.
After working for 12.5 years in law enforcement Chuck continued his public service as an assistant state attorney in the special prosecution section in the panhandle of Florida. During that time, he also worked as an Adjunct Professor for Pensacola State College and a guest speaker for U.S. LawShield and their firearms program.
Chuck is a member of The Florida Bar, the Florida Criminal Law Section, the NCDD, American Council of Second Amendment Lawyers, Florida Carry, and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
